Christened: 6/1/1822 English Parish, Armagh, Ireland Died: 1/1/1900 Melbourne - wife not recorded (age 81) www.familysearch.com is shown as marrying Ann Jane LINTON on 8/1/1846 (0347) in Kilmore, Armagh. Christening is listed as both Mar 1819 and Jun 1822 Notes: Probably arrived in Australia in 1850, accompanied by his wife and 2 or three children (Jane, William George and possibly Margaret) There is a set of terrace houses called 'Rich Hill Terrace' at 58-64 Dudley St, West Melbourne. Sir John Monash lived in one of the houses. Could these have been built by Wm. Hewitt? Gender: M Address: Brighton Carpenter [RFSS July 2003] |

William's age is given as 'Under Age', which means he was under 21. Assuming his 20th birthday was 1845 this would mean a birth year of 1825, which is at variance with other information.
