News item published in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph on Wednesday 17 September 1913 reads SINTON-WILLIAMS WEDDING TO TAKE PLACE TONIGHT Ceremony Will Be Solemized in Pueblo - Newlyweds Will Make Home in Colorado Springs This evening at 8:30 o'clock Miss Lillian Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Williams of Pueblo, will become the bride of Herbert G. Sinton, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Sinton of this city. The marriage will take place at the home of the bride's parents in Pueblo and will be performed by the Rev. Mr. Orton of the Methodist church in the presence of relatives and intimate friends, among whom will be a number of college friends of the young couple who are going down from here. Miss Williams will be attended by her sister, Miss Lorraine Williams, and Ernest Sinton, brother of the groom will act as best man. Immediately after the ceremony and an informal reception Mr. Sinton will take his bride on a fortnight's honeymoon trip, after which they will come to Colorado Springs to make their home. Miss Williams graduated from Colorado college in 1912, and during her residence at the college was one of the most popular girls on the campus. She is a member of Minerva society. Mr. Sinton, who also graduated in 1912, is well known as an athlete, having been captain of the college football team during his last year in college. He has lived here all his life and is now associated in business with his father. He is a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. [RFSS Nov 2009]
Article in the El Paso County Democrat published on Friday 4 March 1921 reads E. P. Shove, member of the Colorado Springs school board, has resigned. Herbert G. Obituary published in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph on Wednesday 17 March 1971 reads Private Services Set for Herbert Sinton Private funeral services were to be conducted in St. Stephens Chapel today for Herbert George Sinton of 5 Bradley Place who died at his home on Monday. The Rev. Robert G. Hewitt was to officiate and burial was to be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Sinton was born in Colorado Springs Feb. 19, 1888 and had resided here all his life. He attended Colorado College and graduated from there in 1912. He was the retired president of Sinton Dairy Co., Holland Dairy and Sinton Dairy Farm Co. He was a member of the board of directors of the Colorado Springs National Bank. Mr. Sinton served on the Colorado Springs City Council from 1937 to 1947 and on the school board of District 11 from 1921 to 1927. He was a member of the Winter Night Club. Surviving is a son, James H. Sinton, and a daughter, Mrs. Marietta Gray, both of Colorado Springs, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
