SS Contessa At the time the Sinton family sailed in her she was being operated by the Standard Fruit & Steamship Company. The following is taken from a company postcard - 'The SS Contessa and her sistership the SS Cefalu, swift oil-burning steamers, are especially constructed for tropical cruising. They maintain a high standard of comfort, courtesy and service for which the Standard Fruit fleet is famous. The Standard Fruit & Steamship Company steamers sail weekly to Cuba, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico.' [RFSS Feb 2009] From his Death Certificate, a copy of which was kindly supplied by Rebecca Cisme on behalf of Lynn Etta Sinton Ward, he was cremated on 25 January 1964 at the Mission Cremetery, San Antonio, Texas, USA. He had lived his last fourteen years in Von Ormy, Bexar County, Texas.
