GENERAL NOTES
Jesse was a descendant of Robert Taft, whose first appearance in this country was thought to be 1678, in Braintree, MA. Directly after King Phillip's War, he moved to Mendon, MA(?), and became a large landowner in that and adjoining towns. Some of the land was purchased from the Indians.
