Quaker originally then Church of Ireland.

Isabella Sinton was a teacher - first at Friends' School, Lisburn, then at a College in Cork and at Bootham School in York, later joining her two sisters, Sarah Maria and Mary Louisa, who ran a 'Boarding School for Young Ladies' at Rostrevor. (The house is still there) Eventually Isabella became Assistant Principal of Dromore Road Primary School, Warrenpoint where her husband was Principal. Two of their sons, Thomas O'Neill Jameson and William Sinton Jameson also taught in Dromore Road P. S. and William succeeded his father as Principal.

She was a graduate of the College of Preceptors in London.

Isabella kept a notebook in which she recorded family facts and incidents. (Now in possession of Alistair Jameson) Some extracts :

"Bungalow finished 27 December 1930" This was built at Portadown - near Carngrove - by Frank, Tom and Willie as a holiday place.

"1st April 1931 - teachers salaries cut by 7½%"

"School cleaner Annie Hazley paid 7 shillings and 6 pence per week"

"School lavatories finished 15 January 1931"

"Stranmillis students came to see the garden at Dromore Road on 4 August 1932"

"Electricity into bungalow July 1934"
