GENERAL NOTES |
Lived at Head of Lane, Tamnaghmore Townland, Co. Armagh, Ireland
Benjamin Cynton is engraved on an old chest in possession of one of the branches and dated 1650 or 1680. He is possibly the ancestor who became a Quaker and emigrated to the North of Ireland. [JHJ] Disowned by the Quakers 15d 4mo 1786. [DMS] Although disowned in 1786, presumably for marrying out, he must have been re-admitted as the family are recorded in later Quaker records.
