Name: James Christy Sinton Gender: Son Date of Birth: 28d 7mo 1794 Place of Birth: Cork Parents: John & Anne Sinton Residence: Cork Description of Father: Registration Meeting: Cork Meeting, Volume 0, Page 118 [RFSS Jan 2012] James came to Quebec about 1818 where he settled as a merchant. He is referred to as "James Christy Sinton of Quebec". He was apparently in good circumstances. He and his children are the Quebec Sintons. Only his son married and he had no children. A note from letter #36, 2 Mo., 1822, Thomas to Ann: (Evidentally, there has been talk of the O'Briens returning to Carlow) "...James Sinton is a merchant at Quebec & has a country house about 2 miles from town, should you come that way, I'm sure he would do what he could in procuring you a comfortable passage...".
