Obituary published in the Republican & Herald, Pottsville, Pennsylvania on Jan 26, 2008. Lois B. Sinton, 80, of 224 Clay St., Tamaqua, passed away Friday at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. Born in Port Clinton, Oct. 1, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Charlotte Johns Betz. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tamaqua, for 68 years. She also taught Sunday School at the church for many years. She is survived by her husband, Oscar M. Sinton, Tamaqua, as well as three sons and two daughters, Debra, wife of Andrew Eremus, Hazleton, Kevin, husband of Suzan Sinton, Lake Hauto, Richard Sinton, Tamaqua, Lois Ann Sinton, Tamaqua, and Brenda Sinton, Tamaqua. She is also survived by a brother, Richard Betz, Tamaqua; two grandchildren, Amanda and Adam; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were 11 brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from First United Methodist Church, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday from the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 124 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA 18252.
