Sinton, 83, of 224 Clay St., Tamaqua, passed away Wednesday at St. Lukes Hospital & Medical Center, Bethlehem. | Born in Pottsville, Sept. 15, 1929, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ruth Gray Sinton. | He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Port Carbon. | He worked for the Aetna Steel Co., Pottsville, for 22 years, after which he owned and operated a service station in Hometown. He then worked for JC Ehrlich Co. for 22 years until retirement. | He was an Air Force veteran serving in the 6969th as a sergeant during the Korean War. | He was a member of the American Legion Post, Harrisburg. | His wife, Lois B. Betz Sinton, preceded him in death in January 2008. | A brother, Gary Sinton, also preceded him in death. | Surviving are three daughters, Debra, wife of Andrew Eremus, Hometown, Lois Ann Sinton, Tamaqua, and Brenda Sinton, Tamaqua; two sons, Kevin, husband of Suzan Sinton, Lake Hauto, and Richard Sinton, Tamaqua; two grandchildren, Amanda and Adam.
| Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington St., Port Carbon, with the Rev. Lorraine Heckman and the Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
