Obituary published in the READING EAGLE/READING TIMES Reading, Berks County, PA Saturday, 10 October 1998, reads:
Helen S. Geiger

Helen S. Geiger, 78, formerly of Gilbertsville, died Friday morning in Pottstown Medical Center, where she had been a patient one week.

She was taken to the medical center from the Frederick Mennonite Community, Montgomery County, where she had resided 11 years.

Her husband, John R. Geiger Jr., died in September 1981.

Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Oliver Sr. and Elthe M. (Sabold) Oliver.

Geiger had been employed by The Pottstown Mercury, retiring in 1978. She was also employed for 12 years as a telephone operator by Ellis Answering Service, Pottstown, until retiring.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottstown.

Geiger was a member of the Freedom Valley Girl Scout Council.

Surviving are a son, John R. IE, Carson City, Nev.; and a daughter, Kay Ellen (Geiger) Rutter, Gilbertsville.

Other survivors include two brothers, Harold Oliver, Cincinnati, and Ralph J. Oliver, Middletown, Dauphin County.

There are also two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be next Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Federick Mennonite Community Auditorium. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. L.W. Ott Funeral Home Inc., Boyertown, is in charge of arrangements.
