 Birth Certificate of William John Sinton - 7 March 1894 [RFSS Mar 2015]
Born at 59 Dunn Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland at 4:30 AM. Registered by his mother Emma. Engine driver. Fireman/Driver of 'Flying Scotsman'? Attended brother Robert's funeral, Portadown, in March 1962. [RFSS Dec 2002] Occupation in 1918 is given as Locomotive Fireman in his Marriage Registration and in 1919 his occupation is given as Locomotive Driver in his son's Birth Registration. He would have been employed by the North British Railway, which was a Scottish railway company that was absorbed into the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923. It operated services between Waverley station, Edinburgh and Queen Street station in Glasgow.[RFSS Jun 2006] Died at 0:45 PM on 29th Feb 1968 at 15 Clelland Avenue, Auchinairn, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
