| Quaker Records Ireland - Birth Details
Name: Samuel Sinton Gender: Son Date of Birth: 1d 7mo 1778 Place of Birth: Moyallon, Co. Down Parents: Thomas & Margaret Sinton Parents' Residence: Moyallon, Co. Down Description of Father: Registration Meeting: Lurgan Meeting, Volume 2, Page 4 Notes: [RFSS Feb 2013] Quaker. These are "Uncle Samuel" and "Aunt Ruth" in the letters. In earlier years Uncle Samuel prescribed for the family's ails. He seems not to like anything out of the way of the Friends, so many items in the letters are "don't tell Uncle Samuel". There are many comments on their protracted courtship in the letters. There were no children. Ruth is mentioned as the aunt of Anna Maria Uprichard who appears later in this outline. I had a letter from Aunt Susanna a few days since with an account of Uncle Saml Sinton's decease which took place on 7th day last the 22nd, 1845. Down Age: 66 Years Date of Burial: 25d 2mo 1845 Place of Burial: Moyallon, Co. Down Description: Registration Meeting: Lurgan Meeting, Volume 6, Page 302 Notes: [RFSS Feb 2013] The burial took place a few years before headstones were permitted at Moyallon, around 1850. [RFSS Sep 2014] The Quaker burial records for Lurgan say that Samuel was 'not a member'. [RFSS July 2005] |
