Robert M. Sheldon, 79, of Wheatland township, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 8, in St. Joseph's hospital, Joliet, where he had been a patient for the last two weeks.

Mr. Sheldon, who had been ill with a heart ailment for about a month, was born August 29, 1870, in DuPage township of Will county, being the son of the late Robert W. and Margaret Sheldon. He was married Dec. 30, 1893, to the former Ruth Patterson, the couple engaging in farming in DuPage and Wheatland townships for 29 years. During the years from 1903 to 1930 Mr. Sheldon operated a real estate business in Napervllle.

Mr. Sheldon was a member of Napervllle lodge, A.F. and A.M. for 55 years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth P. Sheldon; one son, Robert R., of Wheatland township; four grandchildren, Ruth Jean, Robert W., Donald C. and Al Dean Sheldon, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Simpson of Perry, Okla., and Mrs. C. M. Crossetti, of Faribault, Minn.

The body has been removed to the Luce funeral home at Plainfleld.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the First Congregational church at Naperville. Rev. Harry B. Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Naperville cemetery.
